APELL - Volume 3 Issue 2

This year, the membership has dropped from approximately 50 down to 27. At our first meeting on May 14th, there were 22 persons present, including the executive. We had invited members of the municipal council (one attended) and subsequently comments were made as to the validity of our statement that our association represents the majority of homeowners around our lake. The solution is not to send in your $15.00 renewal, but rather to also attend our next meeting scheduled for July 16th. Unless we can recapture our participation and enthusiasm of the past two years, we feel there is no other solution than to dissolve our association in September.

We would like to emphasize that we are not looking for money, but for support and attendance at the general meetings.

Please note the changes in dates for the remaining events:

At the upcoming meeting in July, we will be discussing in detail plans to stock our lake. Since this will require an investment from members, a vote will be taken to determine the number of people interested in investing in our lake.

The hand-drawn map of the lake with depths plotted (done by Dave Nairn and Rejean Drouin) will be available at the General Meeting. Each member is allowed to have one copy for free. Any additional copies (or copies for non-members) will cost $1.00.

APPEL T-Shirts will be available at the general meeting from Francine Charbonneau.

At each general meeting, a bulletin board will be available for all members to post notes for items wanted/for sale, information, or whatever you wish, so long as it is not commercial in nature. If you wish to post something, we would ask that you come a little earlier to post it, and to remove it at the end of the meeting.

All members of the executive welcome calls from members of the association, but we would ask that you call before 9 PM in the evening.
